An explanation of wireless microphone systems
An explanation of wireless microphone systems at DC Music. Thank you for your interest in the An explanation of wireless microphone systems. What types are available? Wireless microphone systems are available for hand held microphones, headsets, guitar player systems, Lavalier and Presentation formats. What is VHF & UHF? Wireless products are available in VHF, VHF True Diversity, UHF and UHF true diversity. VHF is the most economical but has more interference which could cause problems with distance and reception of a clear signal. UHF is a higher frequency which has less traffic to compete with to deliver it's signal, and of course UHF true diversity would be the best option. What is True and non diversity? True diversity means that there are two antennas used to better capture the signal as well as two separate RF receive sections.. Not all receivers that use two antennas are True diversity. True diversity uses two separate RF receive sections each with it's own separate antenna. Internal switching or blending circuitry then decides which signal, or combination of signals to utilize. Do channels affect me? Wireless products are set to certain channels. If you are in a band, or on a stage etc. with someone else using wireless products you will need to determine what channel frequency they are using. You would not want to attempt using the same frequency as it would greatly conflict with your ability to receive your signal. If you need to use more than one microphone or wireless item in same area, you will need more than one system set to separate channels.Different areas of the U.S. have certain frequencies that are more usable than others. The advantage of the Synth 32 system is that you can select the frequency you desire with it's 32 selectable UHF frequencies in both the receiver and transmitter. This works well for the traveling musician, or needs of those who perform and work alongside others who use wireless systems. Thank you for your interest in DC Music.
